Old Testament Isaiah 42:5-9
P: Sing praises to the Lord, O you His saints,
P: Let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them ever sing for joy,
P: I will give to the Lord the thanks due to His righteousness,
P: I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
C: I will recount all of Your wonderful deeds. [9:1]
P: I will be glad and exult in You;
P: The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
P: Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
C: Glory be to the Father and to the Son*
and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning,*
is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Sermon “Hallowed Be Thy Name” Matthew 6:9b
The Lord’s Prayer – The First Petition: Hallowed be Thy Name
What does this mean?
God’s Name is certainly holy in itself, but we pray in this petition that it may be kept holy among us also.
How is God’s Name kept holy?
God’s Name is kept holy when the Word of God is taught in its truth and purity, and we, as the children of God, also lead holy lives according to it. Help us to do this, dear Father in heaven! But anyone who teaches or lives contrary to God’s Word profanes the name of God among us. Protect us from this, heavenly Father!(https://catechism.cph.org/en/lords-prayer.html)
