Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Greetings in the Name of our Crucified, Risen, and Ascended Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:
Today, June 2, 2020 is Pentecost Tuesday. This is the fourth day of four where the church observes the sending of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. I pray that you find this message beneficial in your devotions this day.
Our focus for this day is that the crucified and risen Lord Jesus shepherds His flock with His Word and Holy Spirit. The Verse for Pentecost Eve, Pentecost, Pentecost Monday, and Pentecost Tuesday is – “Alleluia. Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of the faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love. Alleluia.” It is a “liturgical” verse that is not based upon any one verse in scripture.
Old Testament: Isaiah 32:14-20
Psalm: Psalm 27 (antiphon v. 1)
Second reading: Acts 8:14-17
Gospel: John 10:1-10
Collect of the Day:
Almighty and ever-living God, You fulfilled Your promise by sending the gift of the Holy Spirit to unite disciples of all nations in the cross and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ. By the preaching of the Gospel spread this gift to the ends of the earth; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
