Easter Tuesday 4/14/2020

Greetings in the Name of our Crucified and Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:

Today, April 14, 2020 is Easter Tuesday.  If you have not reviewed the previous Pastor’s Post for Easter Monday, I invite you to do so now in order to have a better frame of reference for this post.  I pray that you find this message beneficial in your devotions this day.

The verse or theme for Easter Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday is “Alleluia.  Christ Jesus abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.  Alleluia.”  It is from 2 Timothy 1:10b.  Interestingly this verse is not one of the appointed readings for any of the days, but is certainly a biblical truth that we find throughout these texts and all of Holy Scripture.  The focus for your devotion this day is that repentance and forgiveness of sins are preached in the Name of the Risen Lord and Savior as found in Luke 24:47.

Old Testament:         Daniel 3:8-28

Psalm:                        Psalm 2

Epistle:                       Acts 13:26-33

Gospel:                       Luke 24:36-49

Collect of the Day:

Almighty God, through the resurrection of Your Son, You have secured peace for our troubled consciences.  Grant us this peace evermore that trusting in the merit of Your Son we may come at last to the perfect peace of heaven; through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.
